Spectacle Lenses

As an independent, family run practice we have access to almost any brand of lens. We decided to partner with Hoya because of their product range, history of innovation and because of the outstanding results we have seen with our patients. They also have unique offerings, such as their en-route driving lenses that reduce glare and give crystal clear vision in difficult lighting conditions.

There is a huge array of lenses available, and finding the right product for you requires training and experience. That’s why it’s always best to visit the practice and speak to one of our experts who can guide you to the correction that’s suitable for your eyes and lifestyle. Below are some of the many lenses that are available at Johnson and Leatherbarrow Opticians.

Hoya

Our Premiere Lens Partner

Single Vision

Single vision lenses allow you to see one distance through the lens. When you are young these work perfectly to correct any prescription needs you have, and your eye muscles do the work when you go to see something up close. As we get older our ability to see things up close in single vision lenses gets worse, and that’s when a varifocal lens comes in.

Varifocals

Varifocals are complex lens designs that combine multiple prescriptions to allow clear viewing at all distances. We offer a wide range of lenses to suit all budgets and prescriptions, but we do not offer basic lens designs. Instead we offer freeform technology throughout, with our most advanced lenses being tailored to multiple measurements and lifestyle factors to give the best possible viewing angles and comfort.

Digital Lenses - Sync3

Most of us spend lots of time starring at screens throughout the day. This can lead to digital eyestrain and cause discomfort. That’s where digital lenses come in. Designed for those who are under 45 years old and use computers, tablets and smartphones for long periods of time.

Sync3 - Designed for the digital world

The sync lenses work by giving your full distance correction, with a small boost in the lower portion for near devices. It is designed to give maximal help towards the very bottom of the lens, which is the area that is usually used when viewing smartphones, and less help just below the centre - the area that is used for computer screens.

Pair it with our blue protect coating

For extreme comfort these lenses can be paired with our blue protect coating - the coating that selectively reduces the amount of blue light that hits the eye.

Driving Lenses - Enroute and Enroute Pro

Our driving range is designed for those who spend a large amount of time in their car, or feel like they need extra help when driving at night. The Enroute and Enroute Pro* contain special contrast enhancing* and glare reducing filters to stop the dazzle from bright headlights. They’re available in both single vision and varifocals, with the varifocal design being tailored to allow the best distance vision and intermediate vision.

Lens Coatings

Our coating options include the Hivision Longlife anti-reflective coating, with a 2 year scratch guarantee! That means that you can wear them with confidence and have them replaced should the unfortunate happen.

Extra Options

We offer enhanced coatings such as our Sensity Shine lenses that give the appearance of a mirror tint when they react, our our Sensity Dark that change behind the windscreen.
